Now We Fish For Fun

 Now We Fish For Fun
Wood, waxed rice paper, Plexiglas, gouache, and LEDs

This light box illustrates the history of ice fishing from the subsistence spear fishing of native tribes, to the first European Americans to use basic shacks, to modern Midwestern sport fishermen. As the need for a daily catch decreases, technology and comfort improve. The outer pattern is inspired by Algonquin art.
